Introducing the Strauch "Mad Batt'r!"

Our customers requested a Strauch-quality
carder that would produce those wonderful,
outrageous "art batts" full of exciting fibers
and textures.

Thick batts weighing more than
3 ounces can easily be made.

We now offer the Strauch
Model 302 series "Mad Batt'r"
art drum carder as part of
our regular product line.
This carder has deeper pins
(1/2" long) and coarser carding
cloth (72 teeth per sq. in.) on the
large drum to accommodate all the fun
add-ins that make these art batts say
"spin me"!

The machine is built on the standard 200 series 4" tall solid
ash-wood frame and, like all my drum carders, uses the
unique "Slicker-Licker" cloth on the small drum. As with all
of our 200 series carders, the Mad Batt'r has a 4:1 turning ratio.

The brush attachment makes it easier to control the type of
art batt you are making. The batts produced are 8" wide and 27" long.

Special tools included with each Mad Batt'r are:

The popular Knuckle-Saving-Batt-Pick, an invaluable tool for removing the batt without damage to the equipment or the user.
A Doffer/Cleaner Brush to thoroughly and easily clean any residual fibers from the carding drum.
A small cleaner/dabber brush for use on the licker in drum.
Table clamps to secure the carder to the work surface.

Mad Batt'r Double wide chain drive: $1020.00

For those who want to make really wide and thick "Art-batts", the "Mad Batt'r double wide" model 302x2-BA is available. This model has drums twice as wide as the regular Mad Batt'r and also comes with the Brush Attachment.

The large drum is 7" in diameter x 15¼" wide. The carder produces a batt approximately 15" wide x 22" long. The frame is 24" long, 18½" wide, 6" high.

The same features, benefits, motor and electronics that are shown for the motorized Finest series applies to the Mad Batt'r. If you choose the manual model, it can later be upgraded to a motorized carder.

The single wide motorized carder is $1800.00 and the doublewide is $2100.00
